The incident occurred on 26 April. As reported by the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Świdnica:
(…) at 1:06 p.m., a truck collided with a school bus at the intersection of National Road No. 35 in Strzelce (Świdnica County).
Only the driver was travelling in the truck, while the bus was carrying six children, a female supervisor and the driver. The leg of the driver of the former vehicle became trapped, and firefighters helped him get out of the vehicle.
Both drivers were taken to hospital. The Świdnica firefighters said: – Fortunately, none of the other people travelling on the bus were injured.
Since the Wrocław Specialist Technical Rescue Group had one of its vehicles out of service, firefighters from Bolesławiec were also dispatched to the scene. After an assessment, however, it turned out that the forces and resources in Strzelce were sufficient. The Bolesławiec personnel were quickly turned back. (Ultimately, they did not take part in the operation).
