On 21 April, the district-level qualifiers for the National Fire Safety Knowledge Tournament “Youth Prevents Fires” were held in the assembly hall of Zespół Szkół Mechanicznych in Bolesławiec.
Forty-four students qualified for the district stage, but around 40 people took part in Friday’s competition. Participants competed in three age categories:
- Group I – grades 1–4,
- Group II – grades 5–8,
- Group III – post-primary schools.
First, the students completed a test, after which the five best performers advanced to the oral stage. Here are the names of the winners:
- Group I:
- Jan Borzyszkowski – SP in Tomisław,
- Hanna Krajewska – SP No. 5 in Bolesławiec,
- Patryk Rudzik – SP in Szczytnica;
- Group II:
- Aleksandra Różnicka – ZSP in Bożejowice,
- Zofia Benesewicz – SP in Parowa,
- Kalina Jankowska – SP No. 4 in Bolesławiec;
- Group III:
- Hubert Kopania – ZSE in Bolesławiec,
- Piotr Sitnicki – ZSHiU in Bolesławiec,
- Kornel Rajczakowski – ZSB in Bolesławiec.
It is worth noting that all participants received prizes. The winners received PLN 300 vouchers for Martes. The prizes also included, among other things, Empik vouchers, teddy bears and balls for the youngest competitors.
– This is already the 46th edition of the competition – Stanisław Żółtańskiistotne.pl Stanisław Żółtański, president of the Bolesławiec District Branch Board of ZOSP RP, told the service. – We hope that this initiative will activate young people and that they will become more involved. Our goal is to rebuild the Youth Fire Brigades. They will be our successors.
The winners from each group will represent our district at the provincial stage, which will take place in Trzebnica.
