The 46th International Ceramic Symposium officially began with an exhibition of sculptures and paintings by Łukasz Karkoszka. The artists invited to the symposium were presented. There are fifteen of them this year. They have come from France, Switzerland, Finland and Poland. Among them are also residents of Bolesławiec – Krystyna Gay-Kutschenreiter and Czesław Matyjewicz. The event will continue throughout August. The artists will meet with residents during presentations held in the Długa Gallery and the Forum cinema lobby.

They will present their work on:
12 August, 8:00 p.m. – Czesław Matyjewicz, Anna Specylak, Liisa Rissanen and Katarzyna Hałas
13 August, 8:00 p.m. – Maarit Makela, Dorota Jędrusik, Pola Kurcewicz-Krystyniak and Piotr Wesołowski
19 August, 8:00 p.m. – Eva Aebi, Albane Trolle and Magdalena Glazur
24 August, 8:00 p.m. – Krystyna Gay-Kutschenreiter, Anna Chrzanowska, Karina Marusińska and Marianne Eggimann.

During the symposium, a scientific conference entitled “At the Edge of New Dimensions – Ceramics, Sculpture” will also be held (17 August, 7:00 p.m.); the programme includes lectures, talks and multimedia presentations. The invited speakers include Adam Abel, PhD, DSc, Maciej Kasperski, PhD, Grupa Wzorowo and Piotr Wesołowski, MA.

The artists have also prepared a happening, which will take place during the Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival. The symposium will conclude with the opening of Andrzej Łączyński’s exhibition “Nocturne”.
