At Solidarności Roundabout in Zgorzelec, near Castorama, a farmers’ protest is underway. Farmers from across the region mobilized and on Friday (April 14, before 10:00 a.m.) arrived at the roundabout in tractors.
Traffic toward Bogatynia, Lubań, Bolesławiec and the A-4 motorway is blocked at this location. The farmers are embittered. Grain from Ukraine has flooded the Polish market.
Farmers cannot sell their grain at a profit. Warehouses are full of Ukrainian grain. Its price is low. The grain entered Poland in an uncontrolled manner. The protesters feel resentment and anger toward the government and the previous agriculture minister, who urged them to wait for higher prices. Meanwhile, prices have fallen drastically...

(...) Farmers in our region mobilized via internet messaging services and scheduled a blockade of Solidarności Roundabout in Zgorzelec for 10 a.m. on Friday. The protest is intended to pressure the government to take action “here and now” to protect the interests of Polish farmers and provide them with equal opportunities in the market.
Farmers from Lubań County are taking part in the protest in Zgorzelec. The farmers are backed into a corner, and their losses are enormous (...).
