Activists from the left-wing youth organisation want ticket prices for film screenings held at Forum cinema to be reduced. They submitted a request on the matter to Mayor Piotr Roman. The document states:
The financial situation of many families living in Bolesławiec and Bolesławiec County does not allow them, given the current ticket prices, to enjoy the programme of the local cinema. For an average family, the cost of attending one screening is PLN 60. Compared with the standard salary of a Bolesławiec resident, this amount is too high. Representing the many people who supported this initiative, we request that you, Mr Mayor, permanently reduce ticket costs, so that residents of our city and county have broader access to culture, which is the primary objective of Bolesławiecki Ośrodek Kultury.
We hope that the request, which aims to improve the development of cultural life while also looking after residents’ finances, will receive favourable consideration.
“The mayor has 30 days to respond to our request,” says Paweł Zieliński, head of FMS in Bolesławiec. “I hope the request will not be rejected.”
We will return to the matter.
