Powiatowe Centrum Pomocy Rodzinie in Bolesławiec announces the launch by the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities of two new programs: “Accessible Apartment” and “Apartment for a Graduate” as part of the government package “Independence-Activity-Mobility!”.
The aim of both programs is to increase independence and facilitate the professional and social activity of people with disabilities.
“Accessible Apartment”
If you have a certificate confirming a significant degree of disability, or an equivalent certificate, due to a disability affecting the musculoskeletal system that prevents you from moving without a wheelchair, and you hold legal title to the premises under ownership rights or a cooperative ownership right, where architectural barriers prevent you from leaving independently to the outside at ground level, you can benefit from the “Accessible Apartment” program.
The funding provides a subsidy for the purchase of an apartment free of architectural barriers for a person with a disability.
The subsidy for a person with a disability, i.e. the owner of the premises, may not exceed the difference between the price of the apartment being purchased and the one being sold. However, the program stipulates that the subsidy may not exceed the equivalent of the product of 15 m2, at the amount determined by PFRON.
Details of the program are available on the PFRON website – HERE.
“Apartment for a Graduate”
If you have a certificate confirming a significant degree of disability, or a moderate degree due to a hearing impairment (or an equivalent certificate), and you completed your education within the last three years, the “Apartment for a Graduate” program may give you a chance to increase your independence and facilitate your professional and social activity. The funding may cover the costs of renting residential premises by persons meeting the participation criteria of the program, at the amount determined by PFRON, for a period of 36 months.
The condition for benefiting from the programs is to meet all the criteria specified by the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities.
Details of the program are available on the PFRON website – HERE.
All people with disabilities interested in using this new form of support can obtain detailed information about the programs at the local Centre every day of the week, i.e. Monday to Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at telephone number 75 612 17 81.
