The swans in Bolesławiec feel so comfortable at the municipal pond that they are once again trying to have cygnets. They did not succeed last year. Their nest was destroyed twice. This year, the birds are already under the watchful eye of an online camera that displays and records the footage.

You can watch the LIVE camera feed at:

As Mieczysław Żuraw, the caretaker of the Klekusiowo Wild Animal Rehabilitation Centre in Tomaszów Bolesławiecki, which looks after the swans, informed us, the camera has been permanently directed at the swans’ nest and is monitoring the situation. It was installed and launched thanks to money raised during a collection. The centre’s employees additionally shielded the nest with screens on the side facing the pavement. This is intended to provide the birds with peace and quiet. The swans were also given hay, which they used to build their nest.

Taking this opportunity, we would like to remind you and appeal to you not to feed birds bread. This food is unhealthy for them and can cause various diseases, including the so-called angel wing. If we want to give them something healthy to eat, it is best to use the duck food vending machine located by the pond.
