On Saturday, April 1, BKS faced Iskra Kochlice at the stadium on Spółdzielcza Street in Bolesławiec. Before the match, Michał Kapusz was honored. To mark his 100th appearance in BKS colors, the player received a commemorative jersey from club president Michał Lis. Michał is a pillar of the Bolesławiec team and the backbone of its defense. He can stop an opponent, he can score, and he can build play—he is a complete player and extremely valuable to the entire team.

Returning to Saturday’s match… After the unexpected defeat against Granit Roztoka the previous weekend, the Bolesławiec players were eager to make amends and launched their attacks from the referee’s first whistle. It is worth noting that the visitors’ team included Krzysztof Lisowski, who played for BKS Bolesławiec five years ago.

In the first half, our team imposed its style of play on the opponents. Our players moved the ball quickly, and attack after attack swept toward Iskra’s goal. A goal was in the air. Although Filip Zagórski failed to take advantage of a superb opportunity in the opening quarter of an hour—the player shot at the opponents’ goal twice in the same situation, and the visiting goalkeeper stopped him both times—it was already 1–0 to BKS in the 20th minute. Maciej Szewczyk played the ball across the face of goal, and Piotr Skiba completed the move and put the ball into the net. The first half ended with the hosts leading by one goal.

The pace dropped slightly in the second half. There was plenty of physical battle in midfield. BKS attacked, while the visitors tried to respond with counterattacks. Little came of them, however. Fans at Spółdzielcza had to wait until the 85th minute for the second goal. Then came a superb move by players who had entered the pitch shortly beforehand as substitutes. Artur Smirnov played the ball to Kacper Deka, who was moving into space, and he beat the Iskra goalkeeper to make it 2–0 to BKS.

We would also like to inform you that Saturday’s first-team match and Sunday’s reserve match (April 2 at 11:00 a.m.) are the last matches at the stadium on Spółdzielcza Street in Bolesławiec to be played in front of spectators. Renovation work is already beginning at the stadium, and as it will be a construction site, BKS matches must be played without spectators until the end of April.
