Members of the Women’s Rural Housewives’ Associations prepared for the Competition for Traditional Easter Dishes as perfectly as always – both in terms of taste and the visual presentation of the dishes themselves. Therefore, on Saturday morning, the Community Hall in Bożejowice filled with aromas that were difficult to ignore. Festive mazurkas, sour rye soups, eggs, roast meats… It is difficult to count all the dishes.

While the competition committee evaluated the dishes on display, the individual Competition for the Most Beautiful Easter Palms was decided. Palms made by residents of our municipality were submitted for the competition. Three places were awarded:

  1. Małgorzata Mierzwa, Grażyna Łucka and Grażyna Gerter
  2. Łucja Pachołek, Sylwia Bodziuch and Tomasz Pachołek
  3. Elżbieta Kurek, Halina Weiss, Teresa Śliwińska and Marysia Kurek.

The creators of the most beautiful palms received commemorative certificates and small gifts.

The competition for traditional Easter dishes was won by Women’s Rural Housewives’ Association in Zebrzydowa. The KGW from Suszki took second place, and the KGW from Kraśnik Górny came third. In addition, the Women’s Rural Housewives’ Associations also prepared Easter palms, which were judged as well. Here, the palm made by KGW Jurków proved unbeatable. Second place was awarded to KGW Łaziska and KGW Osła, while KGW Szczytnica took third place.

The guest at this year’s edition of the Competition was the Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Cezary Przybylski.

The competition was hosted by KGW Bożejowice-Rakowice.
