On Friday, March 31, at 12:00, a young man was walking through the Bolesławiec market square with a well-groomed—possibly purebred—dog on a leash. The large animal clearly wanted to relieve itself: it tried to squat on the square’s paving. Seeing this, the man allowed the dog to enter the carefully tended flower beds, where it eventually relieved itself. A passing postman and a female security guard from the Town Hall drew the man’s attention to this, but he ignored them and did not clean up after the dog.
“The girl spent two days planting these flowers,” says a woman working in security at the Town Hall. “How can anyone do something like that!”
What the dog left behind can be seen in the photograph, while our camera shows the man’s behavior.
Here is the famous excerpt from “Day of the Wacko,” which addresses, among other things, dogs defecating and owners who do not clean up after them.
The Municipal Guard in Bolesławiec reminds all dog owners of the applicable regulations concerning the obligation to clean up after their pets. This follows unequivocally from the resolution of the Bolesławiec City Council concerning the regulations for maintaining cleanliness and order in the city of Bolesławiec; failure to fulfill this obligation constitutes an offense for which a municipal guard officer may impose a fine of up to PLN 500. Free bags for dog waste are available at the Municipal Guard headquarters and can be collected during office hours.
