Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters:
Police officers from SPPP Legnica, serving in the Bolesławiec area, arrested a 40-year-old resident of Żagań County after a pursuit. The driver failed to stop for a check and fled because he had a lifetime driving ban and was under the influence of a narcotic substance. He will, of course, also be held responsible for the road incident.
The 40-year-old faces up to 5 years in prison for the offences committed.
As a reminder, on Friday, 17 March, before 5:00 p.m., an Audi with Lubusz registration plates collided on Zgorzelecka Street with a Citroën bearing Legnica registration plates. It is now known that the Audi driver was being pursued by police and ended his escape by colliding with the Citroën.
All emergency services were at the scene. Traffic on Zgorzelecka Street, between Carrefour and the Orlen petrol station, was blocked in both directions.
