Criminal investigators from Bogatynia received a report from one of the town’s residents about a violation of domestic peace. Commissioner Agnieszka Goguł, press officer for the Commander of the District Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec:

After arriving at the scene, the officers determined that shortly after four o’clock in the morning, the woman heard knocking on her windows and balcony door. In the courtyard, she saw a man she did not know, who left a moment later. An hour later, the man began knocking on the windows again, so she decided to call the police.

When she opened the door slightly, fearing that the man would break the glass, the intruder barged inside, grabbed a flowerpot and threw it towards the door, then—as if nothing had happened—lay down on the sofa.

The spokesperson adds: – The woman repeatedly told the man to leave the house, but he did not respond and fell asleep. And he was arrested.

The persona non grata turned out to be a 31-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County who was wanted. It emerged that he had to serve a 104-day prison sentence.

That was not the end of it. The intruder was carrying bags containing papers and drinks. The situation was soon clarified—they were loot from a burglary at one of the supermarkets. The thief committed the crime just before violating the domestic peace of the woman from Bogatynia.

Since the 31-year-old is a repeat offender, he now faces up to 15 years in prison.
