One of the examiners at the Jelenia Góra branch of the Lower Silesian Road Traffic Centre in Wrocław notified the police of suspected fraud during a driving test. – It turned out that a 39-year-old resident of Lubin County was supposed to take the practical category C driving test. However, the man persuaded his younger brother to do so – reports junior aspirant Tomasz Nowak from the Wrocław Provincial Police Headquarters.
The “helpful” brother—who was also 13 years younger—did indeed appear for the test and presented the older brother’s identity card. And… he passed. However, the examiner’s attention was drawn to a man who had been closely watching them the entire time. He looked like the person shown in the photograph on the computer used for drawing candidates.
Spokesperson:
The candidate credibly explained the doubts regarding his appearance. In this situation, the examiner handed the man a form recording a positive result. When the candidate, leaving the DORD premises, picked up the person who had been observing the test and took him into the car, the examiner attempted to clarify doubts about the candidate’s identity. However, the brothers drove off with screeching tires and fled.
Both the 39-year-old and the 26-year-old have already been charged. Both face up to three years in prison.
