The incident occurred on Monday (19 July) at around 6:00 p.m., at the municipal cemetery on Śluzowa Street. A concrete slab collapsed beneath a woman and her 8-year-old son. The child did not have time to jump away and fell into an empty tomb. Firefighters pulled the boy out of the tomb. As a precaution, the child was taken to hospital for observation.
The unpleasant incident occurred in the upper part of the cemetery, on the side of the gate from Gdańska Street. There are many empty tombs in this area of the cemetery. They are all covered with concrete slabs. The tomb whose slab collapsed will be secured later today by employees of the Miejski Zakład Gospodarki Komunalnej, which administers the cemetery.
