How to transport a bicycle by train?

  • unfolded – in the part of the rail vehicle adapted for transporting bicycles;
  • folded – in the designated space for passengers with larger hand luggage.

The space adapted for passengers with larger hand luggage is located:

  • on rail buses: in the middle section of the train;
  • on “IMPULS” electric multiple units: at the front or rear of the train, and in the newest five-section vehicles (45WE), in the middle section of the train.

Before boarding, after being informed that a passenger wishes to transport a bicycle on the train, the train crew will indicate a suitable place in the vehicle. If there are no available spaces or if the journey or passengers’ safety is at risk, the crew may refuse to transport the bicycle.

The bicycle is transported under the passenger’s supervision. It must not obstruct fellow passengers or cause damage to or contamination of the carriage.
When purchasing a ticket or upon presenting a valid journey ticket, a passenger may purchase a bicycle transport ticket with a flat-rate fee. The exact cost of transporting a bicycle by train can be checked in the Fare List.

On the train, the conductor issues a ticket to the passenger transporting a bicycle, charging a flat-rate fee (independent of distance) for a single bicycle journey.
People travelling with a bicycle are treated as persons with reduced mobility when using transport and are exempt from the obligation to report that they do not have a ticket for the journey/transport.

No transport fee is charged for a bicycle transported in a folded state AND simultaneously in a cover, and the passenger is treated as carrying hand luggage.
