(…) it is mid-February, and in Osiecznica municipality there are still people who, despite receiving a positive decision, have not received the PLN 3,000 pellet allowance. Officials cite the lack of funds from the ministry in response to all questions. Perhaps the time has come for someone to look into this, because this is making a mockery of people; the heating season is about to end, and there is still no sign of the money.

She added:

I am the mother of a child with a disability and live on benefits. This would be a huge help to me if the grant were paid. Meanwhile, I buy several bags of fuel at a time, and we simply freeze. I received the decision granting it back in November, yet there is still silence. I am slowly losing hope of receiving this money.

We asked the municipal authorities about the matter. Mirosława Fercho, Head of the Municipal Social Welfare Centre in Osiecznica:

(...) I kindly inform you that matters concerning energy allowances (other heat sources) in Osiecznica municipality are handled by the Municipal Social Welfare Centre in Osiecznica as a delegated task. The Centre has paid applicants all the funds received from the Voivodeship Office for energy allowances. We are currently awaiting the final request for 43 people, amounting to PLN 66,500.00.

Information obtained from the Finance and Budget Department of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Office in Wrocław indicates that the Voivodeship Office will receive the funds for the above-mentioned allowances by the end of this week. At the same time, we were informed that in 2023 no municipality in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship received funds for the payment of the above-mentioned allowances.

The head of the Municipal Social Welfare Centre stresses: – Understanding and empathising with those awaiting payment of the energy allowances, I would like to assure you that once the funds are received, the energy allowances will be paid immediately in accordance with the prepared payment lists.
