A reader wrote to us on February 13 and described their experiences with the work of a postal worker.

Today, a notice left like this [zdjęcie z okładki – przyp. red.], thrown anywhere, and letters addressed to other people in my mailbox. This is some kind of misunderstanding.
Either the mail carrier does not deliver it, or they throw it anywhere. Once, an honest person from the neighborhood brought me a package because the postal worker had left it with them. Is anyone in control of this?

There are so many complaints about the service. My letter was not delivered yet another time, even though I was at home waiting for the delivery, and there was no notice in the mailbox. It would really be good to address this issue, because this is some kind of drama; the people at the post office are irresponsible.

For example, someone waits for a letter, only to find out six months later that the authorities sent a registered letter requesting documents, while there was neither a notice nor anything else in the mailbox. The post office denies any problem and says everything is fine. If there had been a notice, I would have gone to the post office to collect the letter instead of having to fight with the authorities. A great many people from the Kosiby and Starzyńskiego area are complaining.

We asked the Polish Post for comment.

We are carrying out staffing changes at UP Bolesławiec Śląski 1. This task is made more difficult by the excessive number of sick absences, including among employed staff. We have assigned a new postal worker to serve the indicated locality; all mail is currently being delivered on an ongoing basis.
