Andrzej Duda, President of the Republic of Poland, and Mariusz Błaszczak, Minister of National Defence, visited the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade in Świętoszów today. Ukrainian soldiers are training at this unit on Leopard tanks and Leopard tank simulators.
In his speech, President Andrzej Duda thanked, among others, the German side, the manufacturer of Leopard tanks, for joining the effort to arm Ukraine:
(...) We called on our allies and asked them to also allocate Leopard tanks and others to Ukraine. As part of this component of aid, we want an entire armored brigade to be assembled. We have received a positive response from our allies. Not only Leopards—the British side is also offering Challengers. Our neighbors, Germany, have also joined us in this regard; after all, they are the manufacturer of the Leopard tanks. This mattered greatly to us. We also thank the German side for the decision taken by the German authorities to join this effort (...).
Andrzej Duda also thanked Norway, Canada and the USA for joining the effort to provide tanks to Ukraine
