The incident occurred after 5:00 p.m. In the city centre, at the intersection of Karola Miarki Street and Drzymały Street, a man doused a silver passenger car with petrol.
The fire service and police were called to the scene. Firefighters covered the car and the area beneath it with heavy firefighting foam.
The police are investigating the causes of the incident.
Update
According to the police, immediately after Monday’s incident, the perpetrator who doused the car was detained. He was a 41-year-old resident of Bolesławiec. The man was intoxicated. However, because the victim did not file a request for prosecution for property damage, the detained man was released.
