What might the near future of restaurants and hotels look like? On Thursday (19 January), robots from Keenon temporarily took over the Winestone Restaurant and Hotel Ibis Bolesławiec. A demonstration was held there, featuring two restaurant robots and one hotel robot. The main task of these robots is to deliver ordered dishes, snacks and drinks to restaurant and hotel guests.
Interestingly, the robots do more than just deliver orders. They can greet guests and convey messages to specific people. They are patient and persistent when moving between restaurant tables. The hotel robot, meanwhile, can deliver an order directly to designated hotel rooms, even those on upper floors, communicating and using... an elevator to do so. There is also an option involving an actuator that opens doors.
The robots are intended to help restaurant and hotel employees serve guests. Can they completely replace people? Certainly not in the near future. Anything is possible further in the future. How much does this type of robot cost? At least several tens of thousands of złotys.
