The European Junior Orienteering Championships were held in Spain. Our county was represented by: Angelika Haniszewska and Marek Wojnowicz, athletes from UKS Tukan Iwiny. Angelika performed excellently in the competition, finishing 15th in the classic race and 13th in the sprint. This is a great success, considering that this is only Angelika’s second season in the sport.

The other Tukan athletes were also not idle. Małgosia Szeliga, competing in the K-18 category, gave her rivals no chance and won the international Wawel Cup competition. During the same competition, Wojciech Pachnik triumphed in the sprint, which did not count towards the classification, and finished second in the M-20 category (although he paid for his performance with an ankle injury). Bartek Szeliga (M-14 category) finished seventh.

In the sprint at the Limanowa Cup, Bartek Szeliga won, while Mariusz Wojnowicz finished third (in the M-16 category). Dominika Kanikowska (K-14) took fifth place, while in the M-40 category, Tukan’s coach, Dariusz Pachnik, proved unbeatable. Małgosia Szeliga won the overall competition. Bartek Szeliga finished ninth, and Dariusz Pachnik third.
