At the sports field in Bolesławice, many fans of good music and entertainment gathered. On 4 July, not only children but also repatriates and their families celebrated in the village near Bolesławiec.
The weather was fine, and folklore enthusiasts had no reason to complain. Seven performers appeared during the fifth Balkan Festa. The following performed on the stage in Bolesławice: the Ocice group, Nasza Biesiada, Zagajnik, Kapela Herbutów, and the well-known Gminny Zespół Pieśni i Tańca „Jutrzenka”.
There were also competitions. The greatest interest was aroused by the... cock-catching competition.
That day, Piotr Burniak also performed on stage. Accompanied by an accordion, he sang, among other things, about his love for Bolesławiec. The evening's star was the Greek group Orfeusz. With their energetic music, the band got the audience dancing.
Events commemorating the return of large groups of expatriate Poles to their homeland have been held in Bolesławiec County for years. Many residents of our county still cultivate the customs, rituals and culinary traditions of those places. South Slavic songs are still remembered and sung. For this reason, events with a Balkan theme remain consistently popular both in Bolesławiec and in the surrounding municipalities.
The event was organized by Gminny Ośrodek Kultury i Sportu w Bolesławcu z/s w Kruszynie and the parish council in Bolesławice.
