The incident occurred on January 10. Volunteer firefighters from Nowogrodziec:

(...) at 8:37 p.m. we were dispatched to a fire in a residential building in Gierałtów.

They added:

Upon arriving at the scene, it was determined that the fire had been extinguished. The firefighters’ tasks included:

  • Providing qualified first aid to the injured person, who had been evacuated from the building by a neighbor. Hydrogel dressings were used to soothe burns to the lower limbs; oxygen therapy and thermal insulation were also provided.
  • The building was ventilated and checked with a thermal imaging camera.

The injured person was attended to by an emergency medical team. Firefighters from Nowogrodziec, Gierałtów, Wykroty and Bolesławiec took part in the operation, which lasted approximately one hour.
