On Tuesday, 3 January, we emailed Gminny Ośrodek Pomocy Społecznej w Warta Bolesławiecka, asking on what grounds the intervention group removed a sober 77-year-old homeless man from the PCK shelter in Bolesławiec. After the Jarex group’s intervention, journalist Grażyna Hanaf spoke with the employee on duty at the PCK headquarters in Bolesławiec, and she referred her to the social welfare centre in Warta regarding an explanation of the intervention.

In response to the question, I inform you that the Social Welfare Centre in Warta Bolesławiecka did not participate in the activities in the afternoon that called the intervention group to the PCK facility in Bolesławiec on 2 January 2023 [the intervention group was called on Tuesday, 3 January – editor’s note.]. It is certainly connected, however, with the decision granting Mr R (...) the right to stay at the shelter until 31 December 2022. From 2 January 2023, he already had the right to stay at a DPS.

On 3 January 2023, Mr Ryszard and his son came to our Centre during working hours, and after the conversation, the son undertook to take his father to the Social Welfare Home in Osiek.

We asked Mr Ryszard’s son whether he had indeed undertaken to take his father to the Social Welfare Home in Osiek. The son initially authorised his response, but then changed his mind and did not agree to its publication.
