Volunteer firefighters from Krzyżowa:
Last year, our unit was dispatched to 86 incidents involving fires or local hazards.

The year 2022 was a breakthrough year for our unit in terms of development for two reasons.
- On 28 January 2022, after many years of efforts, letters and pressure, we finally managed to bring in a brand-new GBA MAN 18.320 4X4 rescue and firefighting vehicle!
- The second important event was the decision by the Commander-in-Chief of the State Fire Service to include our unit in the National Rescue and Firefighting System as of 1 May 2022!
They also add:
We managed to recruit new firefighters who completed the basic course and are actively serving in our ranks.
To ensure an appropriate state of operational readiness, our firefighters meet every Friday at the fire station, maintaining, cleaning and running every piece of equipment on the vehicle so that it is ready for use at any time.
Most important interventions:
The firefighters: – Of all the incidents we attended in 2022, several required great dedication from us, many days of battling the elements and litres of sweat.
And they list:
- 18 June 2022 – a forest fire on the border between voivodeships in Leszno Górne;
- 28 July 2022 – a fire involving wasteland, crops and forest between Krzyżowa and Rożyniec;
- 29 July 2022 – a wasteland fire at LSSE Osła;
- 5 August 2022 – a fire at the alternative-fuel production plant at LSSE OSŁA, where we spent several days, while also responding to other incidents in the meantime.
And they emphasize:
At this point, we would like to sincerely thank everyone who contributed to the development of our unit, and the local governments thanks to whom we have such modern equipment and are where we should be.
The greatest applause and thanks, however, go to our firefighters, who devote their time every day, risking their health and lives. Without you, this unit would not exist!
