In connection with readers' reports concerning the condition of the Bolko building on Asnyka Street, we sent an inquiry to the office. Here is the response we received today:

On January 2, 2023, an inspection of the building was carried out. During the inspection, it was found that work on the renovation of the building's facade was under way. The investor fenced off the pavement on the side of Asnyka Street, and warning signs reading "Caution: renovation" and "Caution – passage prohibited" were put up. In addition, the investor undertook to fence off the building on the side of Tadka Jasińskiego Street and at the entrance to the "Delikatesy Centrum" store. The scope of the construction work includes replacing the window and door joinery, insulating the external walls, and renovating the roof, external stairs and balustrades.

The investor was informed and instructed about the need to ensure the safety of bystanders while the construction work was being carried out.

I would also like to inform you that the construction work in question is being carried out on the basis of a notification accepted without objection by the Starosta of Bolesławiec.

We wrote about the poor condition of the facade of the former Bolko building in two articles: A section of the building's facade fell onto the pavement and Bolko is frightening people in the city centre. The facade is coming off; it is getting worse.

The president of the company responsible for the building did not want to comment on the situation.
