At the County Council meeting on 22 December 2022, councillors voted on the 2023 budget and adopted the multi-year financial forecast for 2023–2028. In short, it was a session devoted to money. The Board and the starosta were praised, among other things, for managing the county’s budget well (the planned surplus for 2023 was over half a million zlotys).

In summarising the proceedings concerning the budget, the head of the Council raised the issue of unnecessary positions in the office and better remuneration for officials who perform their work very well, and called for pay rises for officials at the District Office and subordinate units.

“Besides praise alone, further work and reflection are also needed,” said Wojciech Kasprzyk. “Personnel-related, for example at the District Office: which people should not be working at the District Office? Should these positions not be eliminated, with their salaries allocated to employees who actually work hard? I believe this should be seriously analysed. I am, of course, ready to help. And I hope that next year employees of the District Office and its subordinate units will receive pay rises. I would like us to return to the status where the standing of an official meant something and everyone was proud to be an official. Today, attracting specialists to the office is more difficult. I know this is not our fault, but the result of various factors, and I hope that the pay rises will come and will be noticeable,” added the head of the County Council.
