Lubińscy criminal investigators were working on a case involving the burglary of a Renault car. – As police established, the perpetrator used a hammer to smash the window in the vehicle’s rear door and then stole a concrete saw and other power tools from inside – reports asp. szt. Sylwia Serafin, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Lubin. – The owner estimated the value of the losses at PLN 33,500.
As a result of operational work, the criminal investigators identified the man suspected of the offence just two days after the incident. He turned out to be a 29-year-old resident of Lubin, already well known to the officers.
The man has already been charged. He pleaded guilty. The spokesperson said: – He told police that he quickly sold the stolen power tools to a man he happened to meet because he needed cash for essentials for his newborn child.
The detainee now faces up to 10 years in prison.
