A group of terrorists attacked a railway viaduct in Bolesławiec, and saboteurs planted an explosive device beneath it – fortunately, this was only the scenario of exercises held on Wednesday, June 23. Those taking part in the operation to retake the site from the terrorists included Bolesławiec police officers, officers of the Railway Protection Guard and Military Police, soldiers, bomb disposal experts, firefighters, municipal guards and paramedics.

The exercises were deemed successful. Among those observing the operation were, among others, the head of the Bolesławiec police, Grzegorz Chirowski, county governor Cezary Przybylski, the county commander of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec, Grzegorz Kocon, head of the municipal guard Emil Zając, as well as representatives of the Wrocław Railway Protection Guard and the Security and Crisis Management Department of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Office.

“These exercises are intended to help all services refine their procedures. Terrorism is not a fantasy. Situations of this kind occur all over the world, and we must also be prepared for them,” said Cezary Przybylski.
