The incident occurred on Tuesday, 22 November, after 7:00 p.m. Firefighters were dispatched to an incident at the PKP railway station in Bolesławiec, where a fire detector had been triggered.

The alarm turned out to be false. It turned out that the detector had responded to... smoke from the kitchen of one of the service premises, where someone was simply frying something.

The room was ventilated. No one was hurt.

Is it normal for a detector to respond to smoke from a frying pan? As brig. Piotr Pilarczyk, deputy head of the Bolesławiec County State Fire Service Headquarters, explained to us, this type of situation kept recurring at one company in our county. The detector in the kitchen kept going off, and each time it was a false alarm. Therefore, at the request of Bolesławiec firefighters, the company replaced the detectors with different types of devices. And the alarms stopped.
