Winter jackets for small children – what should you look out for when buying one?
A baby’s body is more susceptible to temperature changes than an adult’s. For this reason, we must choose children’s clothing for the autumn and winter season with particular care. On the one hand, a winter jacket should ensure that our little one stays warm, while on the other, it must not excessively restrict movement or cause excessive sweating. Outerwear for everyday walks must also simply be comfortable, so that the child is happy to wear it and it does not cause unnecessary discomfort. When choosing a winter jacket, it is also worth making sure that it is made from the best possible materials, which will make it durable and pleasant to use.
Winter jackets for infants – how to choose the right size
Winter jackets for infants have different sizing from clothes for older children and adults. Size markings may also vary considerably depending on the manufacturer we choose. Therefore, it is always worth trying on the jacket or snowsuit or – if that is not possible – carefully checking the child’s measurements before buying. Remember that we will still need to fit other clothes underneath the jacket, such as a T-shirt, sweater or sweatshirt, so it should not be chosen “exactly to size.”
Children’s winter jacket – what to do when it is already too small?
Jackets and snowsuits for wintery, rainy days intended for small children usually do not serve them for very long. Since our little ones grow quickly, we generally cannot expect to use the same outerwear for more than one season. For this reason, it is not worth buying a very large amount of clothing for a small child – they simply will not have time to enjoy it. It is also good practice to give away or sell used children’s clothes that have become too small. This way, they will get a second life, while we will have more space in the wardrobe for new things the child needs.
