The car’s driving style suggested that the driver might be under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substances. Officers from the Lower Silesian National Revenue Administration directed the suspicious vehicle to a parking area.
When the inspection began, the officers detected a strong smell of alcohol. The driver, who turned out to be a 65-year-old resident of Lubań County, answered the officers’ questions incoherently and slurred his speech. The driver admitted that he had been drinking alcohol.
The Customs and Tax Service officers immediately notified the Police of the situation. After conducting a breathalyzer test, the police officers who arrived at the scene found that the driver had 2.5 per mille of alcohol in his exhaled air. The intoxicated driver was detained. Further proceedings in the case are being conducted by Police officers from Nowogrodziec.
Thanks to the actions taken by the Customs and Tax Service officers, a driver who posed a threat to other road users was removed from traffic.
