The relegation of TOP’s table tennis players from the top division to the first league is partly the result of the players’ performance, but also of the Polish Table Tennis Association’s recent decision. TOP had a chance to remain in the top division because Culani Warszawa were disqualified. The reason for the disqualification was unresolved financial matters. Thus, the teams from Warszawa and Politechnika Śląska Gliwice, who were bottom of the table, were supposed to be relegated to the lower league. Unfortunately, PZTS changed its decision and reinstated the team from Warszawa in the competition. As a result, the two relegated teams are now Gliwice and Bolesławiec. They occupy the last and second-to-last places in the table. TOP Bolesławiec president Robert Tomczyk disagrees with PZTS’s decision and has referred the matter to the Polish Confederation of Sport.

Meanwhile, TOP Bolesławiec’s second-division volleyball players still have a chance to stay in the league. On Saturday, the team entered the first round of the play-offs. The team is competing for a place between fifth and eighth. Unfortunately, the first two matches, played on Saturday and Sunday in Głogów, ended in 0–3 defeats for our team. The third match against Chrobry Głogów will be played on 19 February in Bolesławiec.
