The 11th International Czech Masters Swimming Championships, the “Korunni Cup” 2010, were held on June 12 and 13 in Česká Lípa. More than 300 competitors, representing 38 swimming clubs from four countries—the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany and Poland—took part in the event. The swimmers from Bolesławiec’s Masters Swimming Club can be proud of their successful performance.

Those who stood on the top step of the podium were: Marta Satoła in the 800 m freestyle, Fryderyk Popieliński in the 800 m freestyle, Henryk Kopaniecki in the 100 m backstroke, Andrzej Daszyński twice, in the 200 m butterfly and 800 m freestyle, and Ewa Cygan in the 200 m breaststroke.

Second places were taken by: Marcin Klimkowski in the 100 m backstroke, Jacek Patera in the 200 m individual medley, and Fryderyk Popieliński in the 400 m individual medley, 200 m individual medley and 200 m freestyle. The third-place finishers were: Andrzej Daszyński twice, in the 400 m individual medley and 200 m individual medley, Jacek Patera in the 800 m individual medley, Henryk Kopaniecki in the 200 m individual medley, Ewa Cygan in the 100 m breaststroke, and Dorota Bernat in the 200 m breaststroke.

The swimmers from Bolesławiec also competed in two relay events, taking third place in both. The Bolesławiec Masters swimmers brought home a total of 18 medals. The appearance of our swimmers was co-financed from the budget of the City of Bolesławiec.
