The incident occurred on Monday, October 31, in Kliczków. At around 11:00 a.m., firefighters received a report about two kittens that had fallen into a well approximately 10 m deep and 1.6 m in diameter.

The owner was at the scene. He was unable to get the four-legged animals out.

Initially, OSP units were dispatched to the scene, followed by a unit from KP PSP Bolesławiec equipped with high-angle rescue gear. One of the firefighters descended into the well on a rescue tripod and rescued one kitten.

One, because when the firefighter reached the well, the second animal could neither be seen nor heard. It is possible that the cat had fallen farther down. (The well has a second bottom that cannot be reached).

On October 31, 2022, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the County Command Post of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec received a report concerning two cats trapped in a well in Kliczków, Osiecznica commune.

The SKKP duty officer dispatched firefighters from OSP Osiecznica and Przejęsław, as well as from the Rescue and Firefighting Unit in Bolesławiec, to the scene.

Upon arrival, it was found that on the property, a cat was located among rubbish on a grate in a well at a depth of approximately 10 m. The well was approximately 40 m deep in total.

The operation involved a rescuer descending into the well using equipment designed for high-angle rescue. The actions enabled the live cat to be successfully brought to the surface. After searching the well, the firefighters found no sign of the second cat.

The firefighters appeal to property owners to secure wells and excavations against access by third parties and animals.
