On Thursday, a ceremony was held at the Old Theatre to present state decorations awarded by the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda to anti-communist opposition activists from Bolesławiec.
The decorations were presented by Lower Silesian Deputy Voivode Bogusław Szpytma. The ceremony was also attended by Bolesławiec County Head Tomasz Gabrysiak together with County Council Chairman Wojciech Kasprzyk, City Deputy Mayor Renata Szewczyk together with City Council Chairman Józef Pokładek, Chairman of the Jelenia Góra Region of NSZZ “Solidarity” Franciszek Kopeć and Deputy Chairman of the Niezłomni Association Jan Filipek.
The following were awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta: Mieczysław Cacuba, Bogumił Chodała, Janusz Jędzierowski, Helena Kozdra, Adam Krajewski, Bogdan Razik, Jacek Skruńdź, Mieczysław Szczurek and, posthumously, Adam Dziedziczak.
The Centenary Medals of Regained Independence were presented to Władysława Frydrych, Bogusław Frydrych and Zygmunt Maczkowiak.
Wojciech Szewczuk was posthumously awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta__.Wojciech Szewczuk.
