Both incidents occurred this afternoon. In Kozłów near Stara Oleszna, a 16-year-old boy drowned after 5:00 p.m. Police, firefighters and divers, including those from Lubań, are at the scene. The body of water is large, but the search area is not extensive.
In Bolesławiec, meanwhile, a 14-year-old drowned at the gravel pit behind the swimming pools after 7:00 p.m. He had come to swim with friends. They tried to rescue the boy, but unfortunately without success. Firefighters from Głogów were called to the scene with special search equipment.
The search was suspended in the evening. The boys’ bodies were not found. Divers will resume the search in the morning.
