Unfortunately, another forest fire has broken out in the Kozłów area. Numerous fire service units have been dispatched to the scene. Firefighters from Bolesławiec and Żagań counties fought the blaze.
In recent days, extreme drought has prevailed in the forests, significantly increasing the risk of fires. The forest floor is severely dried out, meaning that even the smallest spark can lead to the rapid spread of fire.
The fire situation is very serious, and in some places even catastrophic. Firefighters have had to respond repeatedly throughout the day to fires in forests, meadows and wasteland, demonstrating the scale of the threat.
There is hope that rainfall will arrive on Tuesday (May 5), which may improve the situation. Until then, however, we urge everyone to exercise particular caution—avoid using open flames near green areas and respond immediately to any signs of fire.
