The municipal Teachers’ Day celebration was held at the Municipal Cultural Centre on Thursday, October 13. Teachers, parents, education employees and priests were present at the gathering: Dr Dariusz W. Andrzejewski and Paweł Berezka, Chair of the County Council Krzysztof Król and Chair of the Culture Committee Ryszard Lasak.
The celebration was enhanced by a performance by pupils. The children, together with their teachers, prepared an interesting and deeply moving program. It featured beautiful songs performed by the school’s talented pupils, poems and rhymed wishes for female and male teachers and all education employees. A short, warm rhyme was also composed for Ryszard Kawka.

On this special day, the mayor wished the teachers patience, perseverance and every joy arising from their daily work. He also congratulated them on their successes and conveyed his best wishes for the education employees’ personal and professional lives.
– Colleagues, education employees, those who are working and those who are now enjoying a well-deserved rest. Dear parents, dear pupils – the Mayor of the municipality Ryszard Kawka welcomed those attending the event. – I remember well the days of the Municipal Administrative Team, when teachers would all meet together on Teachers’ Day. There were trips, gatherings and festivities. Later, after the reorganization of the schools, when they became independent institutions, each school prepared something of its own for Teachers’ Day. I decided to change that and initiate joint meetings for all teachers from the municipality, to bring back what used to be enjoyable. I would like to thank everyone for organizing this gathering: Magda and Monika, the school principals and all of you, because everyone contributed to making this a pleasant day for us. We organized this meeting to show that educating young people is important to the authorities of Gromadka Municipality. And you are doing it excellently. I would like to express my gratitude for your work and care for the young people who will support us when they are in the prime of their lives – the mayor said.
The mayor assured the teachers that he was working to ensure excellent working conditions at the school in Gromadka. Once the Delfinek swimming pool is completed, the children will have swimming lessons. Ryszard Kawka is also planning to adapt school rooms into a kitchen with a cafeteria and has already begun taking action. His goal is to open the school cafeteria in the 2022/2023 school year.
Teachers’ Day was also an opportunity to present the Gromadka Municipality Mayor’s Awards to teachers and principals. Nine people received awards. Each of them was welcomed with enthusiastic applause, showing that the teaching teams in the municipality are close-knit and share mutual fondness and respect.
– Colleagues, I know that your hard work has often gone unappreciated – the mayor said. – The body responsible for running the school recognizes your work and will support you. The awards presented today express our gratitude and will mark the beginning of a good tradition in the municipality – Ryszard Kawka added.
On behalf of the award recipients, the principal of the Primary School in Gromadka in Gromadka expressed his thanks.
– Thank you very much for the mayor’s awards, and congratulations on such an impressive gathering – said Robert Furman. – This is the first time we have all met like this. I thank all my employees and colleagues, because without them I would not have achieved much – the principal added.
