Based on tests conducted by the State Sanitary Inspection, an above-limit number of bacteria Listeria monocytogenes was found in the product batch specified below: Cold-smoked Atlantic salmon.
Consuming food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenesmay lead to a disease called listeriosis.

What actions have been taken?
Sanitary inspection:
Carrefour Polska halted sales of the product in question in all stores and warehouses and decided to display information about the product’s withdrawal on store premises.
The manufacturer, Suempol Sp. z o.o., is closely cooperating with the Veterinary Inspection to determine the source of contamination and withdraw the product from the market. The production process will be verified and appropriate measures will be taken.
Official control authorities are supervising the withdrawal of the product in question from the market and verifying the actions taken by the production plant. As part of the supervision, the frequency of official sampling for Listeria monocytogenes will be increased.
What are the recommendations for consumers?
The Inspectorate: – The batch covered by the notice should not be consumed.
It adds: – If symptoms of illness occur after consuming the product covered by the notice, contact a doctor.
