A reader who lives near the turn-off from Nila Street to dino and the Elit motel asked us to remind everyone about the issue.
Please inform the community that it really is no longer possible to enter there. Unless they have too much money and like paying fines. It is worth revisiting the matter once again, as for several days there has been a vertical no-entry sign there, while people drive on autopilot and stubbornly enter despite the ban. Even though all the drivers around them honk and point to the sign, they drive in and bring all traffic to a standstill. People apparently do not know that a no-entry sign is already there. I live next door and a car enters there every five minutes. Against the sign!
We already reported in May this year on the problematic turn-off from General Nila Street (DK94) to the dino store and Elite motel, as well as the doubts some drivers had regarding it. Deputy Inspector Tomasz Kazimierczuk, Head of the Traffic Department of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters, answers our questions.
Editorial office: Drivers travelling along DK94 from the city centre towards the dino store should now use this direct right-hand turn-off after the bus stop and lay-by.
Deputy Inspector Tomasz Kazimierczuk: Yes. Drivers must use the entrance after the bus stop.
They can no longer use the turn-off from Nila to Różana directly and drive to the motel and dino, because there is a solid line there.
A driver may not enter through the intersection of Nila Street and Różana.
However, they may turn from Nila into Różana, continue along it, make a U-turn and then, approaching Nila, turn right before it onto the road leading to the motel and dino.
They can make a U-turn on Różana Street and then enter the motel and Dino through the lower entrance-exit.
Drivers travelling from the direction of Brzeźnik towards the centre who want to reach dino and the motel should either continue straight along DK94 and make a U-turn, for example at the roundabout near Zgorzelecka, then return and use the right-hand turn-off after the lay-by and bus stop. They can also turn into Różana, continue along it, make a U-turn and then, when they reach Nila Street, turn right before it and drive up to the motel and dino.
A driver may not cross a double solid line or a line that may be crossed from one side; they must therefore make a U-turn in a permitted place and enter the store car park in accordance with the regulations.
What fine applies for crossing the solid line at this location?
The fine for an offence involving driving onto or crossing a double solid line or a line that may be crossed from one side is PLN 200.
