The incident occurred on Monday morning (3 October). Someone emailed information about an explosive device allegedly planted at a school in Bolesławiec. The police did not confirm the information and, fortunately, the alarm turned out to be false.

Officers remind the public that the consequences of such an act can be serious. The perpetrators of such “stupid jokes” are identified and held criminally responsible. For deliberately reporting a false threat, minors are brought before a family court, while adults face up to 8 years in prison.

On 30 September, we reported on a 16-year-old who triggered a false bomb alarm at a school in Gryfów Śląski. Under Article 224a of the Criminal Code, triggering a false bomb alarm is punishable by up to 8 years in prison. Minors are held responsible for punishable acts and signs of demoralization in accordance with the Act on Proceedings in Juvenile Cases. The costs associated with the services’ operations in this situation will be borne by the 16-year-old’s parents.
