Prices of goods and services are, unfortunately, still rising. In shops, restaurants, service outlets... everything is getting more expensive.

On Friday (30 September), Statistics Poland released preliminary data on September inflation. We do not have good news.

In September, the average increase in consumer goods and services prices amounted to 17.2%.

As we read on the Business Insider website:

The data show that in September prices were, on average, 1.6 percent higher than in August and 17.2 percent higher than in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Poland has not experienced such high prices for more than two decades. The last time the inflation rate was at a similar level was in 1997. It is worth noting that in that year, in January, the situation was even worse. Inflation exceeded 18 percent.

Unfortunately, such a scenario cannot be ruled out in the coming months. Forecasts suggest that the rate of price growth could even approach 20 percent, reaching the highs recorded in 1996.
