It was a close match, and a draw was within reach—that is how Saturday’s game, in which BKS’s senior team hosted Mewa Kunice, can be summed up. From the start, BKS attacked boldly and dangerously. The hosts imposed their style of play on the visitors. In the 16th minute, Dawid Kowalonek played the ball into Mewa’s penalty area. Piotr Skiba rose to meet it and gave the Bolesławiec side the lead with a spectacular shot.

After the 20th minute, the hosts’ pressure eased somewhat and the visitors began to find their way into the game. Play took place in the middle of the pitch. After one of Mewa’s attacks, the referee decided there had been a foul in BKS’s penalty area. Following an intervention by the BKS goalkeeper, a player from Kunice fell and the referee awarded a penalty. In the 36th minute, Łukasz Chodyga converted the penalty. The referee’s decision provoked protests from the hosts’ players and supporters, but the official remained unmoved. The atmosphere was also heightened by the fact that the match was officiated by a trio of referees from the Legnica district, from which the visitors also came.

The 1–1 score remained until the 61st minute. Then, after one of the visitors’ attacks, Arkadiusz Cymbalista put the visitors ahead, 2–1. Mewa held on to its lead until the final whistle, although it would probably be more accurate to say that BKS failed to take several good opportunities to change the score. A draw was within reach, and they could even have gone on to win. It is enough to mention two situations in which the ball struck the visitors’ crossbar twice. Jacek Bochnia and Maciej Szewczyk, among others, had chances to change the result.

Unfortunately, BKS could not score again. BKS lost to Mewa Kunice 1–2 (1–1). Although the Bolesławiec side lost the match, its course could have pleased the supporters. There was plenty of battling and emotion. No one held back. It is only a pity that the points went to Kunice.

The reserves won in Tomaszów Bolesławiecki

Also on Saturday (24 September), at the same time as the first team, BKS’s reserve side played its match in Group III of the A-class. The Bolesławiec team defeated the local GKS 2–0 (0–0) in Tomaszów Bolesławiecki. The goals for the Bolesławiec side were scored by Marek Majka (49th minute) and Eryk Kliwak (67th minute).
