They wrote to us Readers:
This is what Staroszkolna Street looked like.
And they added:
For a long time, we have been trying to intervene to have the road repaired, but we can’t get anyone to listen. This is our only road to our homes and plots of land, and our children’s route to school. Because of the enormous potholes and mud, however, it is impossible to use it normally.
County head Tomasz Gabrysiak mentioned the matter during the September session of the Bolesławiec County Council. What is happening with the reconstruction of Staroszkolna Street? The head of the local government said: – The contractor submitted an application to the Architecture and Construction Department—a complete application, together with the design, for a decision authorizing the implementation of the road investment.
And he added: – It happened at a very good time. Because soon, I think in October, we will announce a major tender for the implementation of 12 investments. Staroszkolna Street is among them.
Let us recall. In May this year, we reported that the funds obtained by the county government from the Polish Deal (PLN 13,965,000) would be allocated to:
- modernization of county roads: No. 2323D (Staroszkolna Street), 2319D (Staszica Street), 2311D (Gdańska Street), and the pedestrian and cycle path along Kosiby Street in Bolesławiec;
- modernization of the road from Kraśnik Dolny through Lipiany to Nowa Wieś (No. 2287D);
- modernization of the road from Kraśnik Górny to Szczytnica (No. 2286D);
- modernization of the road from Gościszów to Mściszów (No. 2273D) and from Gościszów to Lwówek Śląski (No. 2496D), as well as the sidewalk along the road in Zebrzydowa;
- modernization of the road from Gromadka to Osła (No. 2285D).
