At St. Luke’s Hospital in Bolesławiec, eight patients infected with the coronavirus are currently hospitalized. Importantly, none of them requires either oxygen therapy or a ventilator. They are all breathing independently. Nevertheless, Covid has worsened the conditions from which these patients had already been suffering.
The small number of hospitalizations and the relatively mild course of the disease are, of course, affecting interest in receiving another dose of the coronavirus vaccine. It is negligible. Currently, the hospital in Bolesławiec receives around 10 calls a day related to vaccination registration, whereas last year the phones were ringing off the hook.
How long this situation will last remains to be seen. As Kamil Barczyk, head of the Bolesławiec county hospital, emphasizes, although the nature of the disease has changed and it is discussed less in the media, it is worth exercising common sense. And it is worth getting vaccinated.
