On September 17, the Volunteer Fire Brigades of the Gmina and City of Nowogrodziec competed: OSP Nowogrodziec, OSP Czerna, OSP Gierałtów, OSP Zebrzydowa, OSP Nowogrodziec – Osiedle, and OSP Gościszów. Youth Fire Brigades also took part: OSP Gierałtów (ages 10–14) and OSP Nowogrodziec (ages 10–14), as well as MDP Gierałtów (ages 8–10). (The latter competed outside the official classification.)
The competition was overseen by a committee appointed by the district commander of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec, Brigadier Andrzej Śliwowski.
The men’s OSP teams competed in two events: a firefighting relay and combat exercises. The results were as follows:
- OSP:
- OSP Nowogrodziec,
- OSP Gierałtów,
- OSP – Nowogrodziec Osiedle;
- MDP:
- MDP Nowogrodziec,
- MDP Gierałtów.
The event was organized by the Municipal Office in Nowogrodziec, the Municipal and Gmina Branch of the Association of Volunteer Fire Brigades of the Republic of Poland in Nowogrodziec, and individual OSP units from the Nowogrodziec Gmina.
Following the competition, a new fire engine was officially handed over to OSP Nowogrodziec. The fire engine was blessed by Rev. Krzysztof Słabicki. Lucyna Klusik, head of the field office of the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund in Lubań, presented OSP Nowogrodziec with a special pre-hospital emergency medical kit.
Nowogrodziec Gmina:
The vehicle was purchased with grants of PLN 460,000 from the Nowogrodziec Gmina and PLN 437,000 from the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, as well as OSP Nowogrodziec’s own funds. The modern rescue and firefighting vehicle has a range of functional and technical features that will meet our firefighters’ expectations regarding safety and working comfort.
