Firefighters from Bolesławiec:

On 13 September 2022, an unusual incident occurred in the village of Milików. A cow grazing in a pasture fell into a two-metre-deep well filled with mud. After units of the Volunteer Fire Service from Nowogrodziec and units from the State Fire Service Rescue and Firefighting Unit in Boelsławiec arrived at the scene, they immediately began efforts to pull the animal out of the trap.

The uniformed officers add:

Using the excavator present at the scene, they dug around the animal, which allowed better access. Then, using shovels, the firefighters freed the cow’s limbs, and with the rescuers’ help, it climbed out of the depression safe and sound.

(…) at 21:36, we were dispatched to free a cow that had fallen into a well.

They add:

The operation was successful, and the injured animal was unharmed.

At around 22:00, we were dispatched to a cow trapped in a pit/well in a field in Milików. Upon arrival, the report was confirmed, and we began digging out the trapped animal with shovels. After approximately 15 minutes, Mućka was free, safe and sound, and handed over to her owner with a recommendation to secure the well.
