Municipal Public Library – Knowledge Centre:
A lot happened last weekend! Above all, we celebrated Bolesławiec City Days 2022 in the Park named after Scoutmaster Hubert Bonin, as part of which the First Municipal Allotment Gardeners’ Day was held on 10 September. It was on that day that people could “clear out the old electronics” in exchange for a symbolic deciduous tree or shrub seedling, as well as gadgets funded by the Municipal Communal Services Company in Bolesławiec.
The organizers add:
There was no shortage of interested people! The 150 seedlings were gone within an hour, while the half a tonne of collected electronic waste will certainly be disposed of properly.
On Saturday afternoon, visitors could also try their luck in an ecological lottery, share their beekeeping knowledge and win a prize for giving the correct answer in the “bee quiz”.
They also add:
At 5:30 p.m., we ceremonially summed up the art competition “Our Beautiful Allotment Gardens” on the amphitheatre stage. The competition was addressed to grades I–III of primary schools in Bolesławiec. From among the 76 entries submitted, the jury selected the winners, whose works were published in the 2023 Allotment Gardener’s Calendar. Congratulations to the winners, and thank you for taking part in the competition!
