The Nowogrodziec Gmina Harvest Festival was held on Sunday, August 28, in Czerna. Nowogrodziec gmina:
In accordance with our gmina tradition, the ceremony began with a thanksgiving Field Harvest Festival Mass, accompanied by the parish schola “Cantate Domine” from Gierałtów.
And she adds:
After Mass, the harvest festival hosts, Ms Barbara Sądaj and Mr Zbigniew Kapusta, presented the head of the gmina, Robert Relich, with bread baked from this year’s grain. As tradition dictates, the harvest bread was shared among the assembled guests.
The gmina head thanked all the farmers and village heads for taking part in the joint celebration marking the end of the harvest, for their hard work, for preserving the tradition and passing it on to the younger generation.
The artistic programme featured the following ensembles: Milikowianki with its band, Gościszowianie with its band, Zagajnik Wykroty and the Nowogrodziec Brass Band. The children from the Górników Surowców Mineralnych Primary School in Czerna also presented their artistic achievements.
The following village councils proved the best in the competition for the most beautiful harvest wreath:
- Gościszów,
- Zagajnik,
- Zebrzydowa
The evening’s star was the highland ensemble Trebunie-Tutki.
